A broken statue of Padmapani Bodhisattva and a Buddha head in a clay pot have been discovered from the excavation of the Paravadi Bodhstupa in the Sukhuapada Hills in the Lalitagiri-Ratnagiri-Udayagiri diamond triangle.
The statutory excavation under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Puri Circle has started on February 14. During the excavation, the fragile structure of this huge Boudh Stupa with a height of 4.5 meters, built of chdolite stone, has come to light. The base of the stupa is about 18 meters square. While the top is circular, it is 137 meters above sea level. The dimensions of chadolite stones are 2 feet by 2 feet and 3 feet by 2 feet.

It is worth noting that Paravadi Boudhstupa is located in Palai Panchayat of Jajpur district, 18 km away from National Highway No. 53 from Chandikol to Paradip. About 30 skilled and unskilled laborers are currently engaged in the excavation work. The excavation is being done from 6:30 in the morning.
